About "Summer Glacier"
Journeying through the tunnel into Italy, I was struck by the magnificence of Mount Blanc with the pure white glacier running down its side. The summer sun bathed the mountains in glorious sunshine, which bounced off the snow and filtered through the woodland canopy. Wispy clouds floated lightly above the peaks against a dreamy blue sky. I wanted to capture how full of light and colour the scene was, and so I painted with a light wash of watercolour to allow the brilliant white of the paper to shine through.
