About "Thames View"
Working from sketches I did on a boat on the River Thames, I drew this quick thirty minute pastel sketch. This particular view caught my eye as the sun was beaming down onto the Shard, creating a stunning reflection on the water. As it was such a bright day, everything was energised with a vividness in colour, and the contrasting shadows cast were particularly dramatic.
