About "New York Shadows"
The strong early morning light beaming past the Chrysler building is piercing to look at, but throws dramatic shadows across the city streets. After an initial wash of watercolour, I added structural detail using the end of my sharpened old paintbrush, rotating it to achieve both thin and thick lines.
