About "Riverbank Reflection"
I used the fluid qualities of the watercolour and ink to my advantage to form this soft atmospheric riverbank scene. After doing an initial wash of watercolour, I added ink whilst the paper was still wet. The pigment of the black ink instantly split and spread on the page, appearing almost like the tree branches. It is really exciting to work with a wet-on-wet technique, as you never quite know what incidental marks will be created or how the paint will interact on the page.
