About "Shoreline Shadows"

This piece was painted on location from the Tarka Trail near the Ilfracombe Coastguard Cottages, looking down on a nearly deserted beach. Sat high up on the rocks, I had an almost birds-eye view, where the shoreline appeared to swoop diagonally below me, offering a really striking composition. The sun was beaming down casting a dramatic shadow from the cliffs, which appeared a fantastic purple hue against the complementary yellow golds of the sand.
