About "Secret Garden"
I came across this old broken tree in the secret woods of Lee near my home in North Devon, and I was instantly drawn to its imperfect beauty. The trees twisted form in its humble simplicity created elegant shapes and shadows, and appears to stretch in an almost anthropomorphic way. To give sharp focus to the unique structure of the tree, I created a blur in the background by blending the paint into a gentle gradient.
