About "Red Wine Elegance"
Glass and transparent objects are tricky to paint as you are required to paint negative space and reflections to create form and solidity. With this painting of a glass of wine, I wanted to portray the richness in colour and flavour of the grape, whilst also capturing the slight translucence of this delicious beverage. Sharp highlights on the glass in blues and yellows reflect the colours of the surroundings, firmly situating the glass of wine within the scene.
