About "Battersea Power"

Battersea Power Station standing derelict on the south bank of the River Thames, soon to be completely transformed into an exciting neighbourhood of flats, restaurants and retail space. I often return to paint Battersea Power Station when I am in London, as I am fascinated by its controversial history, as well as its distinctive chimneys and almost cathedral-like vastness. I am intrigued to see how this iconic area of the London skyline will change with upcoming future developments, and look forward to tackling the inevitable challenge of balancing traditional and modern designs within one artwork. This was painted from the other side of the Thames on a really still evening, providing a rare moment to capture the reflections.
