About "Fading Light Over Westminster"

In this view along Westminster Bridge towards Big Ben, the sun was setting in between the buildings emanating an inviting warm glow. I worked in watercolours on rough handmade paper, as I wanted to focus more on loosely capturing the tone and mood of the scene, than intricate fine details. Rough paper is great for large washes of watercolour, as the pigment collects in the dimples, giving the piece a textured grainy effect, almost like an old timeless photograph.
